The purpose of the social work major is to prepare students for entry level generalist practice in social work. This is a professional program of study which is strongly grounded for the first two years in liberal arts.
The second two years focus on the professional curriculum. The program prepares students for work with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.

School Social Work Licensure
B.S.W. students interested in pursuing a career in school social work may apply for Licensure in School Social Work. School social work is an exciting and rewarding field of practice for those interested in working with elementary, middle, or high school level students, and their families.
Minor in Social Work
A minor in social work is an excellent addition for students interested in combining a primary major (such as nursing, political science, or psychology) with social welfare.

hours of community-based service, students will complete by end of their undergraduate degree.
